Bringing together games, people and well-being.
Who is Marianne?
Marianne has been involved in School of Gaming since 2020, and she has gained a great deal of experience from different parts of the Sogverse as a Game Educator, or Gedu. Currently, Marianne also shares her knowledge and experience with other Gedus and is involved in developing SOG’s activities.
Marianne is a social work professional who is passionate about supporting well-being through games. During her studies, she has combined social work, psychology, digitalisation, as well as game studies and game design. Marianne believes that even some of today’s major societal challenges could be addressed through educational and pedagogical gaming environments. She wants to help shape SOG’s activities around child-centredness, well-being, equality, and the development of digital skills.
Marianne has also been playing digital games since childhood. She especially enjoys playing with other people, as she feels that playing together often leads to great conversations because interaction in gaming environments tends to happen very naturally. Marianne also greatly enjoys spending time in nature and going on long walks in the forest, which she takes every day with her dog, Loki.
